Will My New Model Y Have 4680 Battery?

This article talks about the new Model Y Standard Range that utilizes 4680 battery cells and how it compares to the Long Range version with 2170 cells.

It also talks about the new Model Y All-Wheel Drive coming out of Tesla's new Gigafactory in Texas, which has a shorter driving range than the Long Range version.

This model utilizes Tesla's new 4680 battery cells, which are more energy dense than the 2170 cells used in the previous versions.

This gives the Model Y an EPA estimated range of 330 miles with a single charge,

however this loses 50 miles when compared to the Long Range version, leaving it with only 279 miles.

The Standard Range version has even less range with just 269 miles.

These figures are slightly lower than what was previously promised, however they still make the Model Y one of the best electric cars on the market today.
